Waterfoot

Waterfoot
The village of Waterfoot is situated at the mouth of Glenariff, a U shaped glacial valley and the largest of the Nine Glens of Antrim. A beautiful spacious beach stretches the width of the glen and connects with a river walk. The Glenariff Scenic Route starts in the village and goes up the the glen past Glenariff Forest Park back down via Glenballyemon to Cushendall. The photo above shows the piers that carried the mineral railway  the shore. A beautiful setting overlooked by Lurigethan mountain with its characteristic ladder fields, lots of history and heritage here waiting to be discovered.
